After another tear-inducing but extremely heartwarming episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Bachelor Nation fans were shocked by the preview for next week.

Fan favorite suitor Chock Chapple seemingly leaves the show in the October 9 episode. “This is a fear of mine. I don’t know if I can do this,” an emotional Chock says in the preview. He appears to tell his fellow suitors, “I just want you to know I’m gonna leave.”

When he sits down with Joan Vassos, he tells her, “I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.” Joan is left stunned by the turn of events. “I feel less confident now. Like, could I leave here alone?” she says.

Of course, we don’t know if this is the end of the story. He does appear to say goodbye. It could, however, just be a conceiving bit of editing.

Chock is after all one of Joan’s frontrunners. After getting the first one-on-one, Joan was enamored by the midwestern business owner. She loved knowing that he’s more than just a respectable gentleman. He also loves to have fun, which is something he proved at Disneyland.

While on that date, Chock opened up about his first marriage that ended in divorce and the heartbreak he is still dealing with from his fiancée passing away. Joan knows that feeling. Her late husband, John, died in 2021.

Having similar stories and values, Joan and Chock seem meant to be. Yet Chock is having some difficulties with not seeing Joan as much as he’d like and having her go off on dates with the the other men. Could that be why he leaves?

Feeling like her late husband’s presence was all around her, Joan admitted in the October 2 episode that didn’t know if she was going to be able to move on. She even wondered if she would be able to leave The Golden Bachelorette with someone.

Luckily, during her time of need, Chock came to her help, and Joan seemingly started to feel better, even calling the 61-year-old a “fixer,” just like John.

Whether Chock will actually leave the Bachelor mansion for good or make a return is not clear yet, but all will be revealed shortly as The Golden Bachelorette is still in full swing.
